Mikheil Saakashvili’s favorite place in America
We’ve noted before that Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili, currently getting what he gave from the Russians in some place called South Ossetia, earned his letters at our very own school of law. Now City Room fleshes out the picture with some snooping around his former Morningside haunts, learning that he loved the Indian Café on 108th and Broadway, but never set foot in the Hungarian.
I mean, he’s no Vaclav.

I was a little skeptical of his judgment in provoking Russia, but his love for Indian Cafe suggests there might be a deeper problem here.

Totally my bad. I actually like Indian Cafe… I was thinking of Bengal Cafe on Amsterdam. You know, the one you always pass by on your way to 1020 that never seems to have any customers.

ok so all the food in this neighborhood sucks donkey balls, but indian cafe is squarely on the “starting to suck less” side of the spectrum.
if you guys are into indian food, do yourselves a favor and journey down to the thirties & Lex one weekend.

Calcutta cafe is superior…
the registrar no longer does phone registration. this makes life difficult, since I’ll be in a plane (minus a 20 min layover) for most of my registration on the 30th, and I hoped i could use my phone to switch sections of a low-number capped class.

that’s an interesting mix that i’ve only seen at a place called rocksugar in LA
you live under a rock—indian chinese is pretty common (go to queens or long island) and can be traced back to the fact that there’s a significant ethnic crossover in India
you suck and rocksugar does too.
Ajanta hands down for Indian. I only went to Hungarian twice during college. Maybe it’s because those grad students decide to fake-do their thesis work on 2/3 of the available tables.
